HME Miniature Railway
If your kids are obsessed with trains, make sure to take them to ride the miniature railway in the middle of Minogue Park. With two separate tracks, there is over 1.6km of track winding through regenerating native bush, over six bridges and through three tunnels.
Open every Sunday, weather permitting. Check HME's Facebook page for updates.

Potter Children's Garden
A strong kowhai theme flows throughout the Potter Children’s Garden in Parana Park. The slide is a kowhai flower, there’s a kowhai leaf-shaped viewing platform looking over the Waikato River and a 300-jet fountain shaped like a kowhai seed. There are also tui chick and egg interactive sculptures and a small amphitheatre and playhouse.
